There is a danger in soy milk, however: most soy milk products at the grocery store are sweetened with cane juice and are, therefore, high in added sugars. The solution? Purchase unsweetened soy milk and add your own stevia powder. It makes a sweet, low-sugar, healthy drink that provides the healing benefits of soy isoflavones along with a good balance of protein and fat. I drink soy milk not only because of what's in it, but also because of what isn't in it. Soy milk doesn't contain pus, for example, which is always present in small quantities in dairy milk.
All of that disappeared when I stopped consuming milk products. My sinuses cleared up within a matter of weeks, my bowel function transitioned to a healthy state, and I no longer needed to carry around packs of tissue. Unfortunately, I didn't figure this out until I was well out of school. So much for timing. I can testify to the fact that life is a lot more enjoyable when you're not blowing snot every few minutes, and that's why you couldn't pay me a million dollars to go back to a diet that included dairy products like milk or cheese.
Cows' milk and constipation Overconsumption of poor-quality milk products is a primary cause of constipation; however, a moderate amount of milk which has not been pasteurized, homogenized, skimmed, or denatured in other ways can benefit those suffering with constipation from dryness, if they are not allergic to dairy products. - Paul Pitchford, Healing With Whole Foods With what you know about cows' milk so far, you probably aren't at all surprised to learn that cows' milk is a leading cause of constipation.

Food sources include meat; milk and milk products; cereal products; eggs; fish; dark green, dark yellow, and orange vegetables; carrots; sweet potatoes; peaches; oranges; and apples. Commonly found chemicals, such as PCBs, solvents, insecticides, and drugs, can dramatically drain body stores of vitamin A and other antioxidants by increasing its usage and excretion. Our exposure to toxins has dramatically increased our demand for these tissue-protecting antioxidants. This can lead to an increased instance of many diseases.

Health and Nutrition Secrets

We know that of all foods, ingestion of milk and milk products has the highest association to the very types of cancer found in cattle. Does pasteurization kill viruses? The dairy industry would like you to think it does, but the answer is a resounding no! When you put that carton of milk in the refrigerator and go for a drink a week later, only to find a stinking clabber-looking mess, it's because bacteria have curdled the milk. The bacteria didn't come from the refrigerator, they were already in the milk.

Vitamin B aids in formation and maintenance of the nervous system and immune system, the regulation of mental processes and mood, and is vital in chemical detoxification. Approximately 60 percent of people with chemical sensitivities are deficient in vitamin B6.

The episodic rather than regular release of 1-131 means we get big hits and then none at all, especially in milk and milk products. The reason that 1-131 is so dangerous is that it has a relatively short half-life of about 8 days; this means it has a radiogenic life of about 60 days, and then the amount remaining is probably biologically insignificant. Although this short half-life is touted as a great thing for patients and incidental accumulators of I-131, the short half-life means that most 1-131 taken into the body will decay in the body rather than being excreted.
Goat's milk and goat's milk products can be used as an alternative to dairy products if it is shown that an allergy is restricted to dairy products from cows. The child may be allergic to any food but usually they are usually staples including meat, potato, bread, and milk products. The most common allergy is to sugar additives, followed by milk products. The combination of milk and sugar in ice cream, for example, is a devastating combination for many children. The formula fed to so many babies contains both milk and sugar. Primitive vs Processed Food We should eat only foods that are pure, not processed, primitive, not hightech, if possible.

Dairy products can be contaminated with traces of antibiotics. Cow's milk products are extremely low in iron and may actually promote iron deficiency.

Since energy supply is the main objective pursued by Western diet, we should not be surprised that the latter is based for the most part on the consumption of proteins and animal fats, such as red meat and milk products, while foods with fewer calories, such as fruits and vegetables, occupy a place of less importance. In the East, people consume fruits and vegetables in abundance; their main sources of protein are legumes, particularly soy, as well as fish; they eat relatively little red meat and other foods containing saturated animal fats.

Ice cream can be replaced with rice or soy based products—some of those are so good children will eat any amount available. "Also, please make sure to read the labels on those 'energy bars', as well as on any other packaged foods.
Over the next 7 years, she remained symptom-free while avoiding milk products. During that time, on several occasions she tried to reintroduce milk into her diet. Each time, the numbness recurred within 24 hours. Another woman in her late thirties had been diagnosed with MS by three different physicians at Johns Hopkins. Although her MRI was normal, her symptoms of numbness and blurred vision were considered classic for MS.

If you or your child had trouble from milk, be sure not to use any milk products. Use Italian bread or kosher bread, which should not contain milk (casein or whey), but always read labels to be sure. Bake if you like, but do not use eggs or sugar. Remember, no dairy product or milk is allowed if these foods seemed to cause medical problems. If you find that the milk day causes no problem, milk products, such as cheese, can be eaten but check each one separately. Day 10: The day you add sugar, give sugar cubes and add granulated sugar to allowed foods.

Experts say that vegan diets help asthma patients simply because they eliminate common food allergens like milk products and eggs. This means that you don't have to go tocally vegan to help your asthma, but you do have to identify which foods trigger an asthma attack and eliminate them from your diet. You can do this by process of elimination: eliminate one food item per week and see if your asthma symptoms change during the week. On the other hand, not all asthma relief is about subtraction.

To overcome psoriasis, all cooked fats, especially egg and milk products (cheese, milk, butter, dairy ice cream) should be completely avoided. For those with psoriasis, six to ten colon irrigations should be undertaken. After two months of this treatment, one should fast on water for three days, then conduct a gall bladder flush (drink eight ounces of stone-crushed, cold-pressed, extra virgin olive oil followed by 8 ounces of freshly-squeezed lemon juice) (see Lesson 10: Detoxification). This will help flush the liver and gall bladder.

Because pasteurized (cooked) milk products are not suitable for human consumption (and for other reasons mentioned in earlier lessons), calcium should come primarily from green-leafy vegetables and/or their juices.
As far as raw milk products go, they are high-fat foods. Generally, raw goat's milk is of a higher quality than raw cow's milk because goats are a cleaner, more discerning animal - if they do not find the food they like, they will go hungry, whereas cows will start chomping anything green, as well as any kind of grain.

Milk products provide calcium. Two servings of dairy products will provide about 600 mg of calcium. Those who are dairy allergic will need to take supplements. Magnesium: The normal diet will provide enough magnesium for most people. When supplements are needed, they should be balanced with calcium, already described. Magnesium in excess will cause diarrhea (thus the use of Epsom salts, high in magnesium, as a laxative). Common preparations are magnesium citrate (150 mg), magnesium amino acid chelate (100 mg), or magnesium oxide (420 mg).
Regular use of dairy and milk products can be associated with psychosis and depression. On December 13, 2004, the patient returned for a follow-up. He reported an increased sense of alertness and vigor from the treatments. He also described symptoms of social anxiety where he would feel scared to talk to people and would even avoid teachers and classmates while completing his auto mechanic program. He did have some depression since the last visit, and experienced suicidal ideation on three separate occasions since the initial visit. His vitals were within normal limits.
Young people with a violent nature and who are often in trouble with the law have been found to eat excessive amounts of sugar and milk products. They are often very immature in their behavior; we have considered them as infants who have not yet been weaned from their milk. One such individual had for breakfast each morning a quart of Coca Cola and a quart of milk. Another middle-aged man, who had been in prison several years for assaulting a police officer, carried a quart bottle of concentrated sugar with him all the time. When he became tired, he would drink that solution.

Other Dietary Interventions The Specific Carbohydrate Diet is a very special version of a more generalized approach that has been used with some success for a number of digestive and gastrointestinal problems. Joe Brasco, M.D., a gastroenterologist with a decidedly holistic and nutritional bent, puts all his patients on a foundational program that is a basic "caveman"-type diet: lean meats, fish, poultry, vegetables and vegetable juices, stocks, and traditionally fermented foods like sauerkraut. He also recommends coconut oil because of its high content of lauric acid, a natural antimicrobial.
